Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning James 1:17
God being the very source of all light is always in the light and has no place for any darkness. But for us to have no shadow of turning means we must walk directly towards the source of light. As we grow older the temptation to turn away just a bit to the right or left unfortunately never goes away. In the words of Hymn writer Robert Robinson “Prone to wander Lord I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love…”
Our longing to follow straight up the path that our heavenly Shepherd is lead
ing is sometimes muddied by passing moods, circumstances or even close friends. Thank God for that grace our Father gives when our footsteps hesitate along the way. There from just beyond the horizon He calls.
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left Isaiah 30:21
